The antonym, or exact opposite of Action is Inaction. And a synonym for Inaction is in fact, Procrastination. (Ta Da!)
Yesterday, as I promised myself, I had a little ME time at the computer. YEA! Well, actually, I had a LOT of time...I spent 5 hours working on the screenplay yesterday! (I'll be adding a few pages to the top ticker above.) I went all the way back through the first few pages -- which prompted a lot of research on characters, speaking styles & location -- then wrote a few new pages. I solved some issues that will help the story as I move forward with the writing. I was feeling stuck, but taking action got me going again!
When I'm feeling stuck in place, held down by procrastination, Showing Up at the Page always works for me. And it'll work for you too, whether you're writing a play, novel, essay, poetry, or anything else...Show Up at the Page! It's the only way to move forward. Taking that action - turning on the computer, opening your writing program (I use Celtx for plays & screenplays), and simply beginning the actual (physical) act of writing - will break the most difficult cycle of procrastination. (Writer's block, anyone? - is it real, or is it self imposed procrastination? Something to think about, eh?)
Procrastination is "to put off intentionally and habitually". It's a habit, and it's an intentional one...therefore, change your intention by taking some action. Kick the habit of procrastination by TAKING ACTION and your writing will flourish!!!

Setting a writer's date, and keeping it. Are you still up for T day? Which is Sat.
Thanks!

"..Show Up at the Page!"
This is what I plan to do this summer.
Hey - you asked in your comment what kind of martini -- Alaine and i had the "lemon drop" and Angie had the carmel apple.
First martini I've ever had (other than a nasty "dirty martini" I had years ago).
